Erica Battle is a nationally recognized educator, consultant, and author with over 15 years of experience transforming teaching and learning. Her journey began as a substitute teacher while completing her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications at Tennessee State University. After a brief career in public relations, she returned to education and discovered her true passion: empowering educators and strengthening instructional systems.
Throughout her career, Erica has served as a classroom teacher, instructional specialist, teacher mentor, Director of Literacy, and full-time consultant. She partners with schools and districts nationwide to deliver impactful professional development focused on rigorous instruction, trauma-informed practices, social-emotional learning, equity, and data-driven decision-making.
Erica is also the author of Who Are You?, The Trusted Teacher (Solution Tree Press), and the ARE You Actively Reading and Engaging® Annotation System — practical resources designed to support both students and educators.
She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and now consults full-time, helping schools create sustainable strategies that elevate teaching, leadership, and student success.
